The day was becoming hot and the sun was very bright. My photography skills will have to improve if I expect to get the lighting right!
The corner stone, laid in 1878, wraps around the corner, the other side is pictured below.
Cobblestones pave some of the streets that are around the court house.
If you look closely, near the bottom and surrounded by leaves, you will see "1878" placed under the eve.
This is a portion of a mural that is painted on a building located across the street from the court house.
These rails are for tying horses to. Those not familiar with LaGrange County may think this is a quaint relic from the past. They are actually used regularly by the large Amish population in the county. I know it its true because I saw fresh droppings on the cobblestones.
The war memorial on the left, listing names of those lost during wars and the cannon on the right are posted below.
I haven't seen one of these signs in a long time.
Bars are present in all of the basement windows. Do they hold prisoners waiting for appearances down there?
Whose office is this? Perhaps a patriotic horticulture hobbyist? Maybe they decorated the pavilion below.
