Finally!
You can't beat the combination of perfect weather, a day off together, and good friends to ride with. It was a wet and cold April that presented very few riding opportunities for this fair weathered rider. With April behind us, we have 6 months of great riding weather ahead of us. We started todays adventure by meeting our friends, Doug and Brenda, at the DeKalb County courthouse. With Groupons clutched in our hands we made our way to Satek Winery in Fremont, Indiana. Having been around since 2001, Satek is North East Indiana's most established winery. We were greeted by a long gravel drive that took us from the main road to the winery. No worries, Curtis and Doug navigated it perfectly. As promised by the Groupon, we received a tour of the facility. We tasted several of the wines and chose a few to buy. We ended the ride with a scenic ride home that included SR327 from north of HWY 6 to south of Cedar Canyon.
So far, all of the courthouses have clocks on them. I found it interesting that the "U"s look like "V"s on this one.
This courthouse has a cannon.
What a great looking pair of bikes!
